Majority’s parliamentarians in Mauritania voted against the wage increase proposal of the deputy Mohamed Lamine Sidi Mouloud concerning the allowances’ increase for the teachers.
The deputies refused the proposal during a plenary session on Wednesday despite the fact that the Financial Committee has agreed to allocate two billion of Ouguiyas for the teachers’ allowances.
Parliamentarian sources said to local media that members from the financial committee voted against the proposal while the opposition’s deputies and three deputies from the Majority voted for it.
The president of the Majority Mohamd Yahia Khorchi has asked his deputies vote against the proposal.
