The parties participating in the inspection campaign in the construction sector in Ramallah and al-Bireh closed their campaign which started on November 16, 2020 with the participation of the Ministry of Labor, the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, the police, civil defense and the municipalities of Ramallah, Surda, Abu Qash and Bir Zeit.
The closure was announced during a press briefing held at the headquarters of the municipality of al-Bireh this morning and attended by the secretary general of the trade union center, Chahar Saad, the regional director of Labor in Ramallah, the deputy mayor and representatives of the police and civil defense.
Recall that inspection visits were conducted in several construction sites and mines where participants issued their recommendations to employers to comply with occupational health and safety standards. Employers who did not respect these rules were given a period of time to rectify their shortcomings.
Campaign participants made a number of recommendations and explained that inspections must continue in order to ensure employer compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
