Lebanese economists have noted that remittances contribute to strengthening the purchasing power of more than 250,000 families in the light of the collapse of the national currency.

In order to combat the rising unemployment rate and to address the dysfunctional labour market, Jordan has announced that it will continue to restrict foreign recruitment to the agricultural and industrial sectors. Foreign domestic workers will also be allowed to continue working in the country.
