The General Federation of Agriculture organised a protest on 20 December in the headquarters of the State Land Office in Tunis. This protest came at the end of a demonstration by workers of public and private companies as well as cooperatives in the agricultural sector who are calling for the improvement of their professional conditions.

Athens and Cairo have agreed to send 5,000 Egyptian seasonal workers to work in the agricultural sector in Greece.

Workers in the Directorate of Agriculture in Maysan protested in front of the directorate building in the city of Al-Amarah on November 09.

The minimum wage in the agricultural sector will be increased by 10%. The increase, which will come into effect in September, will allow workers in the sector to receive 84.37 dirhams for a day’s work (about $8). Workers in industry, commerce, and liberal professions will benefit from a 5% increase.

The workers of the Central Cooperative Company for Agricultural Services (CCGC, Cooperative Centrale Des Grandes Cultures) went on a full strike on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in protest against the administration’s delay and its failure to respond to their demands.
